Khadija Tul Kubra (RA), also known as Khadija bint Khuwaylid, was among the most honored women in Islamic history. She was the first believer in Islam and the first wife of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Born into a noble family of the Quraysh tribe in Makkah, she was admired for her honesty, purity, and wisdom
Before Islam, people called her Al-Tahira (the Pure One) for her spotless character. She was a successful businesswoman who managed large trade caravans and employed many, including the young Muhammad (PBUH).
Her intelligence and integrity made her a leader in a society that rarely gave women respect or power. Even today, Muslims around the world remember Hazrat Khadija (RA) as a symbol of dignity, strength, and faith.

Marriage of Hazrat Khadijah (RA) with Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
The Prophet Muhammad SAW and Hazrat Khadija’s marriage remains one of the most beautiful examples of respect and partnership in history. When she witnessed his honesty and noble character, she proposed marriage to him.
Despite being 15 years older than him, their marriage was filled with mutual love, peace, and understanding, proving that age differences never define true companionship.
Their home became a sanctuary of peace and faith. Together, they raised children, including Hazrat Fatimah (RA), who later became one of the greatest women in Islam.
Khadija Tul Kubra (RA): The First Believer
When revelation first came to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Cave of Hira, he returned home trembling. At that moment, Khadija Tul Kubra (RA) comforted him, assured him, and became the first person to accept Islam.
She said:
“Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your kin, help the poor, serve your guests generously, and assist those in need.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari 4953)
Her faith never wavered. She stood beside the Prophet (PBUH) when the world turned against him. Her wealth and home were devoted to spreading Islam. Her unwavering belief made her not just a supportive wife but a true supporter of Islam.
